Forgive yourself for all your past deeds. Whenever you meet someone whom you think you may have hurt in some way tell them, "If I have offended you in any way, knowingly or unknowingly, in thought, word or deed, then I seek your forgiveness".
Move on. Whether it’s about something you’ve done or a personality quirk that resulted in a social faux pas, it’s important to learn from the mistake, make efforts to grow, and accept that you can’t change the past. When the tinges of remorse resurface, tell yourself “I made the best decision with information I had at the time.”
Whenever your inner critic surfaces, tell yourself, "I am only human, I am doing the best that I can and that is all I can do”.
Remember that your mistakes and your imperfections are not bad or wrong or failures; weakness and frailty are part of the human experience – they are the nature of humanity.
You learn from your mistakes. And behind every success there are a hundred failures. Every mistake and failure is an opportunity for learning, healing and growth.
Remember, acceptance is not resignation. By letting go of the past and the things you cannot control, you can focus your energy on that which you can control, and thereby empower yourself.
